Seneca Land District
OF THE
Barbershop Harmony Society
Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America
Vision:  "To be an ever-growing fraternal singing organization that is ageless, colorless and dedicated to the average singer having fun creating and preserving extraordinary music in the barbershop style. A Brotherhood known in their community for making a difference through singing."  This is partially expressed in our two theme songs:  "We Sing to Feed Them All" and "Keep the Whole World Singing!"

Welcome Back Kotter

Adapted from article by Art Zelesnikar V.P. of Marketing

Everyone remembers the hit TV show from the late 1970’s, “Welcome Back Kotter”. A comedy show about a young man that left his troubled High School for something better went off to college and actually came back to contributor to the success of others. It is based upon that premise that the “Welcome Back Kotter” Program was born. An outreach program to former members (brothers) to come back and contribute to something they loved at one point in their life. To reconnect with old friends and remember how important singing and camaraderie was. This program involves a chapter to hold a “Welcome Back Kotter Night. In preparation for this the District will be providing a list of dropped members within a twenty-five mile radius of each chapter. This list will contain the last known address, phone number and e-mail (what was on file with the Society when they left) Your chapter can then phone, mail or e-mail each man. We suggest trying all three. Send out a letter via snail-mail, follow-up with an e-mail and finally give them a call. Good Luck in reconnecting with these special, old friends.

The meaning of life is to find your gift.
The purpose of life is to give your gift away.
Our gift is four part harmony singing.
